    Do Now

    Brainstorm a list of careers:  Astronaut, Actor…. Banker, Barber…. 

    Include some careers from Future Quest Island plus other careers that you have heard of. 

    See how many you can think of beginning with each letter of the alphabet. 

    You get 1 point for every career on your list plus 20 bonus points if you have at least one for every letter.

    1. Look at the wage chart and find your Future Quest Island occupation.

    2. Use the numbers in the chart to fill in the blanks.

  • College Majors Word Mosaic - Do Now Activity

    Do Now

    Use the College Board website to find a list of college majors for a college in your state.  Copy the information and paste it into Image Chef to make a word mosaic with the names of some college majors.  The link to the Image Chef Word Mosaic creator is http://www.imagechef.com/ic/word_mosaic/

    Here are some sample links. You can choose one of these or search for another college.  On the College Board "Big Future" website, find a college, then click on "Majors and Learning Environments" and click on "All Majors."

  • Colleges Within 20 Miles - Do Now Activity

    Do Now

    Go to the College Board website and use the College Search function at https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search and click on Location. Use the search box to find out how many colleges are located within 20 miles of your zip code. Write a short reflection about the results. How many colleges are within 20 miles of your zip code? How many of these have you gone by when you are travelling around your area?

  • Imagine! Interview a Lobster Fisherman
