- A-Z Job Titles - Do NowBrainstorm a list of careers such as Astronaut, Actor, Banker, Barber, etc.
Include some careers from Future Quest Island plus other careers that you have heard of.
See how many you can think of beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
You get 1 point for every career on your list plus 20 bonus points if you have at least one for every letter.(See Activity Sheet or attached worksheet) -

- Wage Chart / Future Forecast OccupationsStudents choose two occupations from a list, look up wage information in a chart (which is provided), and plot the data on a number line. - College Majors Word Mosaic - Do Now Activity

Use the College Board website to find a list of college majors for a college in your state. Copy the information and paste it into Image Chef to make a word mosaic with the names of some college majors. The link to the Image Chef Word Mosaic creator is http://www.imagechef.com/ic/word_mosaic/

Go to the College Board website and use the College Search function at https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search and click on Location. Use the search box to find out how many colleges are located within 20 miles of your zip code. Write a short reflection about the results. How many colleges are within 20 miles of your zip code? How many of these have you gone by when you are travelling around your area?
